WHAT MAKES SAMMY RUN? is based on Budd Schulberg’s novel about Sammy Glick, a kid from New York’s Lower East Side, who is determined to escape the ghetto there and seek opportunity and success in Hollywood, even if it requires deception and betrayal.
A ruthlessly ambitious young man schemes his way to the top of the Hollywood-studio food chain, betraying friends and lovers in his wake, in Ervin Drake, Budd and Stuart Schulberg’s musical adaptation of Budd Schulberg’s novel.
