When I started writing the "Nunsense" Series of Musicals my goal was to make people laugh. And when the critic from the Cleveland Plain Dealer said, "If laughter cures all ills, the 'Nunsense' musicals will make doctors obsolete," I felt that I truly had reached my goal.
But then my shows took on a very different meaning when I received letters from a couple of theatres thanking me for writing the musicals because one or more of the shows had saved them from bankruptcy. Over the past 25 years we have saved more than 50 theatres across the nation. Last season we rescued the Meadow Brook theatre just as it was about to close its doors. This year they are presenting an ambitious season of new shows along with another installment of the nuns.
